Activities

During COVID-19, Making Connexions is providing food parcels to vulnerable people, self-isolation care packs including resources to support with mental wellbeing and non contact family activities.

Making Connexions is an outreach run by Rugby and Daventry Methodist Circuit, which uses a motorhome nicknamed "Elmer" (after Elmer the Patchwork Elephant). Elmer is used to reach out to people across Rugby who are lonely and isolated. We provide a welcoming space for people to come on board for a drink; chat; community information and bags of surplus food.

Referrals can be made through local churches and frontline workers including housing officers, police and family support workers.

We work in close partnership with local organisations, helping them to build stronger links with their local community and reimagine what it means to be church.

Supporters include the Methodist Church, Warwickshire County County, Warwickshire Police Crime Commisioner and local community partnerships.
